Alinhamento para o mês de Julho

Lang Lang - Done! Numa palavra: genial!

Paco de Lucia -Done! Em várias palavras: o Paco é bom! Muito muito bom! Tinha 4 batedores de palmas só para ele, dois gitanos a cantar dolorosamente ao ritmo do seu dedilhar e um bailarino de flamenco um pouco pantomineiro demais para o meu gosto... mas overall: O Paco amanteiga a mais empedrenida das almas, e deu-me exactamente o que eu queria!

Orquestra Nacional do Porto (com Sassetti) e mais alguns convidados: Integrado no programa do "Verão na Casa", este foi um excelente concerto ao luar (com direito a mantinhas e almofadinhas pagas pelo BPI). E nas palavras do puto bem comportado (e por isso tolerado) que se sentou na fila abaixo da minha: "E palminhas não há?". Houve muitas e merecidas!

(tributo ao "Police" em Cândido dos Reis: um Mojito forte demais para o meu jet-lag, um cantor razoável que infelizmente dizia "message in a battle" em vez de "message in a bottle", um sistema de som assim foleiroso, mas com boa companhia - ainda que sem laço!)

Diana Krall/ Elvis Costello - é para amanhã mas já podia ser para hoje!

Katie Melua - próximo sabado!

Charlie Winston - é pró Paleo (e para fechar a época dos festivais)!

E desta vez o inesperado encontro foi à saída de uma das lojas de Paços de Ferreira. Entre uma cama e uma mesa de sala de jantar vi uma colega de curso que já não via desde Maio de 2003.

A inveja é uma coisa muito feia, mas...

Survival rules for UNternational people...

• I'm afraid it's purely business…nothing personal.

• Always, always, always look for a job. The minute you stop looking for it, your contract will not be renewed and you'll find yourself unemployed!
• Writing job applications can always be done most effectively after a crappy work-related meeting.
• Timing is everything so make sure you're at the right place at the right time - everytime!
• Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it.
• Acronyms are meant to multiply exponentially. IYCBTJT.
• If you want them to know there's steak for dinner, then you have to let them hear it sizzle.
• Get to know the clouds and you'll always get ahead of the weather.
• Ignore adversity. Or better still, sleep with it, then ignore it.
• Jokes, sarcasm and good laughs will make your journey worth it, even when the journey is going really bad!
• Be friends with the admin assistant… specially if she is the one to boss your boss
• Only change clothes in your office, if you're sure that nobody will knock on the door when you're topless!
• "Go dutch" on your calendar (this will avoid double bookings and other embarrassing moments). If it's on outlook it exists, if not…. Tampis!
• When in doubt or feeling ignorant, ask google about it. If your answer is not there… forget about the question!
• Larger than life is just the right size.
• Breathe in…breathe out…inhale…exhale…

Trabalho das 7 da manhã às 11 da noite. Dois grupos de trabalho com o chefão. 5h de sono por noite... I'll be home soon, borderline colapsed, but for the time being, London is calling!

What are the odds of just while you're walking around Piccadilly Circus, hearing someone scream out your name, looking back and actually meeting someone (who you are fond of and that lives in the same city as you) but you haven't seen in something like a year?
I'd say the odds are slim, but it just happened to me this afternoon!!!

Sometimes people don't know the influence they have on other people's life. Others they do, but they really just don't care!

Apesar de eu não querer gostar dos árabes.... é-me impossível!

Sempre que lá vou eles tratam-me tão bem, mas tão bem que me é impossível não querer lá voltar!!!
